A man was seriously injured in a single vehicle rollover near Tilmouth Well north- west of Alice Springs overnight.

Police from Yuendumu attended the scene after receiving a report of the crash on the Tanami Highway 16 kilometres east of Tilmouth Well Roadhouse just after 5.30pm last night. Members of the Alice Springs Fire and Rescue also attended and cut the 38-year-old male driver from the vehicle. He was taken to Alice Springs Hospital with serious head and back injuries. The man's 29-year-old wife, who was a passenger in the car, escaped with minor injuries.

Police said it appeared the man was driving his Toyota Landcruiser north- west on the Tanami Highway when a front tyre blew causing the vehicle to roll.
