Single Vehicle Crash - Alice Springs

A 30-year-old man will appear in court after crashing his car in Woods Terrace, Alice Springs, last night.

The crash occurred just after 10.30pm. Police allege the two males in a Mitsubishi Triton had earlier in the night been observed behaving suspiciously in Driver Court and had reversed over a residential fence before driving off in an erratic manner.

A short time later police located the vehicle in the car park of the Telegraph Station after receiving a report of a disturbance. A member of the Dog Operations Unit approached the occupants however the vehicle drove off.

A short time later a second Police Patrol located the vehicle near Dixon Road and attempted to pull it over, however the driver failed to stop.

The vehicle drove erratically into Anggunu Street hitting a concrete medium strip before travelling on the wrong side of the road and hitting the curb. A short distance later, while travelling on Woods Terrace the vehicle veered onto the wrong side of the road, mounted the curb and hit a rock wall causing it to roll.

Pursuing Police arrested driver and a short time later both the driver and his 36-year-old passenger were transported to the Alice Springs Hospital by ambulance.
