Police

Three men who were reported missing after their cars were sighted swamped on the Arnhem Highway this morning have been located.

The missing people made contact with police early this afternoon.

Two of the males were travelling in a white Holden Rodeo utility and the other man was driving silver Landcruiser when they are believed to have become stranded after attempting to cross the flooded highway.

The men are not known to each other and the incidents occurred during different times of last night/early this morning.

Superintendent Stephen Martin urged motorists stay off flooded road ways.

"It is so dangerous to cross flooded causeways roads or tracks and we ask the public to avoid travel in flooded areas" he said.
