Police were called to a road train crash on the Stuart Highway north of Elliott this morning.
Senior Sergeant Tony Deutrom said Police received the report just after 6am this morning.
“We received a report that a road train carrying cattle had lost it’s load after two of the trailers rolled when the driver tried to avoid a kangaroo,” Sen Sgt Deutrom said.
“The crash occurred approximately 55 kilometres north of Elliott and police from Elliott together with the station owners attended the scene. The 28-year-old driver was uninjured, however 20 cattle were put down.”
The driver was issued with a traffic infringement notice for driving without due care.
