NT Police are currently conducting proactive high profile patrols in Yuendumu, after a group of 66 adults and 35 children returned to the community yesterday.

The group voluntarily left Yuendumu in January this year after a series of disturbances and unrest in the town. They arrived back into Yuendumu late yesterday on four buses and are in the process of resettling into the community.

Additional Police are currently in Yuendumu in an effort to maintain community safety.

NT Police will continue to work with the community to maintain calm in the township.

Police have had no reports of unrest in the community and will continue to liaise with community leaders and provide a high profile presence in the area.
