Police are investigating an incident in which a supermarket was unlawfully entered in Alice Springs following a ram raid.

Police were alerted just after 3am this morning after alarms were activated at the Heavitree Gap Supermarket. They found the front doors had been forced and thieves had made off with a quantity of cigarettes, phone cards and Power and Water tokens.

Police believe a vehicle was driven into the front doors giving the offenders access to the premises.
