Darwin Major Crash Investigation Section are currently investigating the collision of a pedestrian and a vehicle on Cavenagh Street in the early hours of this morning. At approximately 5:45 am a 21-year-old English male stepped out from the median strip on Cavenagh Street into the path of an oncoming vehicle. The pedestrian was struck by the vehicle and has sustained serious head injuries, remaining in Royal Darwin Hospital in a critical condition. Speed and drink driving are not considered factors in this unfortunate accident. Investigations are continuing.
