Pedestrian struck – Alice Springs – 4815166

Police

A five-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after he was struck by a vehicle in Alice Springs this morning.

The boy, is believed to have run out onto the road and was struck by a vehicle towing a caravan just outside the Stuart Highway/Ilparpa Road intersection at around 11:15am.

Police, Fire and Rescue and St John Ambulance members attended the scene and have since conveyed the boy to hospital.

Police urge any road users to use caution when driving near the area as members from the Major Crash Investigation Unit are examining the scene.

Minor delays are expected for the next two hours.

Any witnesses to the crash are urged to contact Police on 131 444.
