An overdue fishing party from Dundee Beach have been located safe and well today.

The two men on board a five metre fibreglass vessel were reported as overdue to Police at about 10:40 pm last night.

The men left Tapa Bay yesterday afternoon and were headed to Dundee Beach, but failed to return in the evening.

Local Police from Belyuen and members of the Water Police Section made enquiries yesterday evening and this morning, however the vessel returned to Tapa Bay and made contact with Police at approximately 8:00am.

It is believed the men became stranded yesterday evening on the low tide and decided to wait until high tide this morning to return.

Police would like to urge people travelling to remote locations to ensure they have adequate communications equipment on board their vessels.
