Operation Losat

Police

NT Police have launched an operation focussing on Anti Social Behaviour around Darwin.

Operation Losat has been developed tasking police members to pay specific attention to the Parap and Fannie Bay areas.

Unfortunately, some frequently seen forms of Anti Social Behaviour in the Northern Territory includes fighting & violence, drinking in restricted areas, swearing, littering as well as spitting, urinating and defecating in public.

This operation commenced on the 18th January 2011 and will continue until the 28th January 2011 with additional police members patrolling residential, commercial and recreational areas, including East Point, specifically targeting Anti Social Behaviour at various times of the day.

By targeting Anti Social Behaviour, police want to send a clear message that poor behaviour will not be tolerated and will be dealt with swiftly and consistently.

"We are also gathering intelligence throughout the operation to assist in developing a co-coordinated approach to the issue, with other agencies where possible" said Senior Sergeant Michael Hebb.

"This operation will not detract from police resources in other areas, with the attention on anti social behaviour and other policing priorities being maintained across the Darwin area to keep people safe" he said.
