A 23-year-old man was arrested following an unlawful entry that occurred in Parap early this morning.

It is alleged that the male entered the unlocked hotel and walked into the cool room at around 12:20 am.

Senior Sergeant Kirsty Manser said the offender removed a carton of beer and left the premises.

"He returned a short time later and stole another carton, however this time he was noticed by staff," said Senior Sergeant Manser.

"Staff members received CCTV footage and with the assistance of a security guard, located the male on Parap Road.

"Police were called to the area and arrested the 23-year-old. He has been charged with trespass on an enclosed premises and stealing. He was bailed to appear in court at a later date.

"The staff did a great job in reviewing the footage and locating the man, however they did the right thing in calling Police."
