As a result, on Tuesday 20 April 2010, an announcement was made that this Police Officer was served with a notice of 'public interest' dismissal.

This matter became subject of an appeal to the Disciplinary Appeals Board, the hearing for which commenced on 19 July 2010.

On 8 June 2011, the Tribunal Board delivered its findings into this matter which determined the Officer should be reinstated as a Police Officer at the same rank at the time of his dismissal.

"Having carefully considered the decision of the Tribunal, and based on legal advice, I have decided to accept the determination and to offer to reinstate this Police Officer."
