New RBT Van for NT Police

NT Police have developed a new high profile RBT van to assist in combating the amount of drink drivers in and around Darwin.

The van will be used as a Random Breath Test station, kitted out with Breath Analysis devices to allow police to test more motorists and spend less time off the road.

The new set up will not only increase efficiency, it will also provide better conditions members conducting the RBTs.

"The vehicle is a great addition to our fleet and will commence on the road this weekend as part of Operation Crossroads, targeting traffic offenders over the Easter long weekend" said Commander, Kate Vanderlaan from the Traffic and Specialist Services Command.

"The high visibility of the van will remind motorists that police are out there on the roads, anywhere and anytime." she said.

Media Note - **Vision Opportunity** an RBT will be set up on Gilruth Avenue, near Sky City Casino at 2:30pm today. Commander Kate Vanderlaan from the Traffic and Specialist Services Command, will also be available for interview.
