Northern Territory Police will be able to deploy more officers, quicker, with the advent to two new Rapid Response Vans.

The purpose-built vehicles can carry four officers and their equipment, allowing Police to respond to social order issues in greater number.

The vehicles are also equipped with specially designed modules that can be utilised as cells.

"These vehicles will be a valuable tool to deploy Police to escalating situations". Said Senior Sgt Peter Schiller.

"Anti-social behaviour is core business for Police and having two vehicles that can transport eight officers to an incident in quick time, will help us combat problems, restore law and order and keep the community safe".
