Mount Bundey Station

Police

Residents and visitors of Mount Bundey Station, south-east of Adelaide River, are being advised to leave the property as soon as possible following the NT Coroner's declaration of a Restricted Area because of the detection of elevated levels of arsenic in a number of long term residents.

Darwin Police Commander Kym Davies said, "As a precautionary measure the NT Coroner has asked Police to clear the area and restrict access until further site investigation can be conducted."

Advice from the NT Department of Health - see attached information sheet - indicates that short term exposure to low level arsenic generally does not result in health risks.

Anyone who has visited Mt Bundey Station and is concerned they may have been exposed to an arsenic source is asked to contact the NT Police advisory line on 131 444.
