A 48-year-old woman who was reported missing in Alice Springs last week has been found.

Police issued a press release and photo of Elizabeth Kleingelf-McMahon after receiving reports of concerns for her welfare. Ms Kleingelf-McMahon arrived in Alice Springs on February 15 after a Qantas flight from Cairns to Darwin was diverted due to bad weather.

The woman checked out of her hotel the next day leaving behind all her luggage.

The alarm was raised and police issued the woman's photo through the media.

Ms Kleingelf-McMahon became aware of police concern after reports in the media and came to the Alice Springs Police station just before 11am today. She told police she had been staying with friends and was in good health.
