Missing Teen Located Safe and Well - Berrimah

Police

A 16-year-old girl who was reported missing on 08 October 2011 has returned home safe and well.

She had been missing since 24 September when she told her family she was walking to Palmerston from her home in Berrimah to visit friends.

She returned to her home today on her own accord. NT Police understand she had been staying with friends.

Acting Superintendent, Michael Hebb said it is critical for youths to clearly tell their parents where they are going and who they are with,

“Both youths and parents need to communicate clearly with each other in relation to where they are in order to prevent unnecessary missing person reports and unnecessary concerns for welfare.

“Furthermore, if there is any doubt, parents should also check and confirm the arrangements with other adults.” Acting Superintendent Hebb said.
