Police report that 14-year-old Thomas (Tom) Cole was located safe and well at Dundee Beach this evening.

Thomas hadn’t been seen or spoken to by his family since he left his Henry Street home in Stuart Park on Sunday 7 August.

It is believed that he had been at the location for several days and when someone recognised the boy, they contacted Police immediately.

Watch Commander Tony Deutrom said that this was a great result and couldn’t have happened so quickly without the assistance from the media and vigilant members of the public.

“I would like to thank everyone for their help in finding Tom so quickly,” said Senior Sergeant Deutrom.
