Missing Person - Mrs Ingrid Phillips - Katherine - Located

Police advise that missing Katherine woman, Ingrid Phillips, has been located safe and well this morning. Mrs Phillips has been re-united with family.

Mrs Phillips was located at about 6:35 am at a local private Katherine business.  She was spotted in some near-by Trucking Yards by visitors to Katherine who saw the media coverage yesterday.  

Senior Sergeant Gavin Kennedy said Mrs Phillips, who suffers from Dementia, Alzheimer's disease and diabetes, wandered away from her home during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

“Members from Katherine Police, Territory Response Group, Emergency Services and over 50 local community volunteers have been conducting extensive air, ground and waterways searches for Mrs Phillips since early Wednesday morning.

“On behalf of NT Police and NT Emergency Services, I would like to thank all the local residents of Katherine for their assistance and efforts during the search operation. The Katherine community have really come together in the search for Mrs Phillips. It is great to see so much support coming through and so many Katherine people wanting to help.

“I would also like to thank the Jawoyn Association and Transpacific Cleanaway for their assistance, and the Salvation Army, Red Rooster and Woolworths who provided all the volunteers with food and drinks and the media outlets for their assistance in raising community awareness,” said Senior Sergeant Kennedy.
