Minor Flood Advice # 3 - Gorge Road - Katherine

The following message is issued by the Katherine Regional Counter Disaster Controller. A Minor Flood Watch for the Gorge Road has now been declared. All Residents are advised to listen carefully to this advice. The Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is currently 3.56 metres. Minor Flooding is occurring on the Gorge Road at Maud Creek crossing. Consider your actions. Take necessary steps to ensure your personal safety and protection of your property. Stock up on essential items. If evacuating, take essential medicines, baby necessities, clothing, blankets, a torch and valuable personal papers with you. We advise you stay with friends or family not in the flood prone area. There are NO public shelters open at this time. The situation is being monitored. Next advice will be issued at 8.00am 5 April 2011. This has been a MINOR FLOOD WATCH FOR THE GORGE ROAD Only.
