Two men will be appearing in court in relation to a number of drugs found in their possession on Sunday.
Darwin General Duties members apprehended a 22-year-old male for possessing schedule 2 drugs in the city in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Following further investigations, members executed a search warrant on a residence on Kitchener Drive, locating approximately 40mls of steroids, 7 grams of ecstasy and around $6,500 in cash.
A 21-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged with:
- Possess schedule two dangerous drug – Trafficable (x3)
- Supply dangerous drug
- Possess tainted property
- Possess poison
- Administer dangerous drug to self
The 22-year-old was charged with:
- Possess schedule two dangerous drug – Trafficable
- Administer dangerous drug to self.
Both men have been bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrate’s Court later this month.
Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Schiller of the Drug and Organised Crime Section said that it was great work by the General Duties members.
“We will continue to target the trafficking and use of dangerous drugs in and around the entertainment districts and those people foolish enough to be involved in this type of activity will eventually find themselves before the courts.”
