General Crime Detectives have charged a 25-year-old man in relation to the indecent assault of a 15-year-old girl in Gunn on Tuesday.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Board from the General Crime Section said it is a great result for the victim, her family and the community to see this man charged and put before the courts.

“The man has been charged with adult attempt sexual intercourse with child under 16, indecent assault with a child under 16, attempt to entice / detail child under 16 for immoral purpose and aggravated assault. He will appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court today.

“We have had a number of witnesses come forward with information, but I urge anyone else who may have witnessed the assault or who may have observed any suspicious behaviour in the vicinity of Maluka Drive on Tuesday afternoon to contact Police on 131 444 or on Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” said Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Board.
