Police have arrested an 18-year-old male in relation to an assault that occurred in Casuarina this morning.

It is alleged that two men and a woman drove through the McDonalds drive through at around 3:45 am when the incident occurred.

Senior Sergeant Craig Ryan said it is alleged that the 18-year-old occupant got into a verbal altercation with the Duty Manager.

“The 28-year-old male staff member went outside to speak to the male and was punched in the face,” said Senior Sergeant Ryan.

“CCTV captured in the area was viewed and within a short time, patrolling members had located the vehicle nearby.

“The offender was apprehended and taken into custody. He has since been charged with aggravated assault and bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrate’s Court on 20 December 2011.”
