Northern Territory Police are searching for a 15-year-old male who escaped from an Alice Springs detention centre this evening.

Jason Laurie scaled a fence at the juvenile facility about half-past-six.

In addition to patrols, NT Police are utilising tracking dogs to locate Laurie.

He is Aboriginal and was last seen wearing a black tracksuit with a green t-shirt.
