An 18-year-old man will appear in court after being caught street racing in Alice Springs yesterday afternoon.

Police said the man was driving his Holden Commodore along the north Stuart Highway at 122kph in a 60 zone at around 4pm. He was allegedly drag racing with another offender when he was caught.

The man was arrested and charged with dangerous driving and speeding and his car was impounded for 48 hours.
