Glassing Arrest - Parap

Police

Detectives from the General Crime Section have charged a 30-year-old man in relation to a glassing attack that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning in Parap.

Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Pollock said that at about 12:30 am, two men were involved in a verbal altercation at a bar in Parap.

“It is alleged that during the verbal altercation, a 30-year-old man punched a 28-year-old man in the face with a glass.

“The 28-year-old man was taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital after sustaining serious facial injuries.

“The 30-year-old man was charged with aggravated assault last night.

"Intoxicated or not, people really need to start taking responsibility for their actions as these incidents often effect people in both the short and long term.

“Glassing, or any type of gratuitous violence is intolerable behaviour and this man is lucky that his injuries were not life threatening,” Senior Sergeant Pollock said.
