Police received a report just after 8.30pm that a Toyota Kluger hire car had rolled 62 kilometres east of Kings Canyon Resort. Police from Imanpa and members of the Major Crash Unit from Alice Springs attended the scene.

Police said it appeared a 32-year-old man who was a passenger in the vehicle died after the driver lost control of the car causing it to roll.

The 41-year-old male driver and three other male passengers aged 24, 39 and 47 escaped with minor injuries.

The death brings the Territory road toll to 4 compared to 11 for the same period last year.
