A 21-year-old woman has lost her life in a single vehicle rollover on the Arnhem Highway earlier today. Police from Jabiru and Humpty Doo, Fire and Rescue Services and Jabiru clinic staff attended the crash scene, 10 kilometres west of the Kakadu Aurora Resort. The female passenger, a Canadian National, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 23-year-old male American National, is being treated for shock and other injuries at the Jabiru Clinic. The Arnhem Highway remains closed in both directions 10 kilometres west of the Kakadu Aurora Resort. Motorists should consider alternate routes to / from Jabiru. The Major Crash Investigation Section remain on scene as enquiries continue. This is the first fatality of 2011, with the road toll now 1, compared to 5 for the same time last year.
