Police are investigating a vehicle rollover that killed a 38-year-old woman today near Renner Springs.

Acting Senior Sergeant Will McDonnell said that it appears that the woman was driving her Toyota Rav 4 along the Stuart Highway at around 12:00 pm today when the incident occurred.

“At this stage we believe that the driver has lost control, approximately 6kms north of Renner Springs, causing the vehicle to roll,” said Acting Senior Segeant McDonnell.

“The crash was discovered by passers-by who then contacted Police.

“Elliot Police attended a short time later and blocked off one lane of the Stuart Highway for several hours.

“This was a tragic incident and only a few weeks away from Christmas and New Years, I urge every to take extreme care on all Territory roads.”

This now brings the NT road toll to 40 compared to 47 for the same period last year.
