At about 3.21pm yesterday Police, Fire and Rescue attended to a road crash about 26km east of the Bark Hut or 108km from Jabiru on the Arnhem Highway.

Initial investigations indicate that the Toyota Hilux was travelling outbound towards Jabiru when it drifted onto the wrong side of the road and into the path of an oncoming semi-trailer. The Hilux has clipped the semi-trailer and sideswiped the full length of the semi-trailer before rolling several times and coming to a rest 110 meters down the road. During the rollover the driver of the Hilux was ejected from the vehicle.

The sole occupant of the Toyota Hilux has died as a result of the crash. The sole occupant of the semi-trailer was uninjured.

The Major Crash Investigation Unit is continuing with its investigations into the fatal crash and there are no further details at this stage.
