Police have identified the male pedestrian that died when he was hit by a car in Malak on Saturday night.

The crash occurred shortly after 10:30 pm on Vanderlin Drive, near the Patterson Street intersection.

Major Crash Investigation Unit, Senior Sergeant Debra Gabolinscy said initial investigations indicate the 32-year-old man was crossing the road when he was hit by the oncoming Hyundi Tiburon.

“St John Ambulance attended the crash but the man died at the scene.

“The 17-year-old male driver and two passengers, both 16-year-old males , were taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment.

“As a result of the crash the Hyundai received extensive damage to the front, bonnet, front and rear windscreen and the roof,” said Senior Sergeant Gabolinscy.

Investigations are continuing.
