The Darwin Major Crash Investigation Unit would like to advise all road users to expect minor traffic disruptions at the intersection of Stuart Highway and Henning/Girraween Road, between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm today for the purpose of a Fatal Crash Reconstruction.

Sergeant Mark Casey from the Major Crash Investigation Unit said members will be conducting deceleration testing of a road train in relation to a fatal crash that occurred last year. 

“To assist in preparing a reconstruction report, an exemplar vehicle will be used to conduct testing of light sequences and various brake configurations,” Sergeant Casey said.

Motorists are asked to follow all police direction when travelling in the vicinity of the intersection of Stuart Highway and Henning/Girraween Road and adhere to all signage in place.

Resulting data will be presented in a report for the Coroner and will also be made available to be presented in a Supreme Court trial at a later date.
