Drug seizure - Palmerston

Police

Palmerston Police have arrested a 49-year-old male in relation to drugs located and seized in Palmerston on Friday 6 May 2011.

Members conducted a Traffic Apprehension on the male driving a Toyota Utility on Manson Court in Moulden shortly after midnight.

He was taken to the Darwin Watch House where he returned a blood alcohol content (BAC) reading of 0.07 percent.

A search was also conducted on the vehicle, resulting in 198 grams of cannabis and a large sum of cash being found.

Palmerston Police later searched the man's home in Humpty Doo, subsequently locating drug paraphernalia and a quantity of unsecured shotgun ammunition.

He has been charged with:

Drive low range BAC
Possess cannabis - Trafficable quantity
Unlawfully supply cannabis to another
Drive under the influence of drugs
Possess ammunition without a licence
Fail to meet storage requirements

The 49-year-old male has been bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court on 27 May 2011.
