Drug Equipment, Guns and Knives Seized

Police

A police operation by the Drug and Organised Crime Section has led to an arrest and the seizure of thousands of dollars worth of amphetamine manufacturing equipment, weapons and drugs.

A team of officers yesterday executed a search warrant at a Pinelands storage shed.

The raid recovered glassware allegedly used as part of clandestine drug laboratories.

Precursor chemicals and instructions to manufacture amphetamines were also located.

A sawn off shotgun, semi-automatic rifle, ammunition, taser and knives were also found.

Cannabis and amphetamines were also seized by police.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested and is assisting police with their inquiries.

A/Commander Matt Hollamby applauded the investigative work by officers, saying the seizure will prevent the manufacturing of dangerous drugs. "Amphetamines are dangerous particularly when made by back yard chemists in unhygienic conditions. People who use them really have no idea of what they are taking. This seizure is significant because it will prevent dangerous drugs making their way onto the streets."
