Northern SAID and DOU members have charged a 40-year-old Maningrida man with drug offences, after he was found in possession of a quantity of cannabis and prohibited liquor at Maningrida Airport yesterday.
Drug detector dog Leo provided a positive response to the man’s luggage after he disembarked from the Airnorth flight from Darwin.
It is alleged the man had 112 grams of cannabis concealed in four talcum powder bottles.
A small soft drink bottle containing port wine was also located.
The man was charged with;
- Possession of a Trafficable Quantity of Cannabis
- Unlawfully Supply Cannabis to Another
- Bring Liquor into a Prescribed Area.
The estimated street value of the cannabis is $10,000.
The man was bailed to appear in at Maningrida Court on 7 September 2011.
