Gapuwiyak Police have today charged a man with drug offences after he was allegedly found in possession of a quantity of Cannabis at Gapuwiyak Airport.

Police searched the luggage of the man after he disembarked from the Darwin flight last Thursday.

It's alleged the 23-year-old man had 126 grams of cannabis concealed in his luggage.

Three duct taped packages hidden in two 250 gram talcum powder containers were found.

The estimated value of the Cannabis is $12,600.


The man has been charged with the following offences;


Possess Cannabis - Trafficable Quantity
Supply Cannabis

The man has been charged and bailed to appear in Gapuwiyak Court on Wednesday 3rd of August 2011.
