A 30-year-old male will be appearing in the Alice Springs Court today following an incident that occurred on Saturday night.
It is alleged that the 30-year-old along with a group of people had been drinking at the 14 Mile Outstation when an altercation broke out, resulting in a 50-year-old man receiving puncture wounds to his shoulder, believed to have been caused by a roasting fork.
The offender has then locked himself in a bedroom and discharged several rounds of a .22 calibre rifle.
Police attended the residence and arrested the male.
He has been charged with numerous offences including:
Recklessly endangering life (x2)
Unlawfully cause serious harm
Possess use firearm whilst unlicensed
Possess firearm under influence.
He was refused bail and will be appearing in court today.
The 50-year-old was taken to the Alice Springs Hospital as a result of his punctured lung.
