General Crime Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at around 2:00 am this morning in Humpty Doo.

It was reported to Police at around 2:20 that a man approached the 22-year-old Assistant Manager of the Humpty Doo Tavern as she was counting the night's takings.

The man then produced a knife and held it against her neck before fleeing the scene with a significant amount of cash.

He is described to be of Caucasian appearance, slim build, approximately 183 cm's tall and was between 30-35 years of age. At the time of the incident he was wearing a blue checkered shirt, green tracksuit pants a balaclava and an old green VB hat.

Of note he was described to have an extremely Australian accent.

Police urge anyone with information relating to the event, or who may recognise the description of this male, to contact them on 131 444.
