He was a resident of the Northern Territory who was conveyed to Adelaide for medical treatment.

Due to circumstances surrounding his death, the matter is being treated as a reportable death and therefore police are investigating on behalf of the Northern Territory Coroner.

South Australian Police are undertaking their own investigation on behalf of their Coroner.

The two jurisdictions will be sharing information as they work towards ascertaining the cause of death.

Detective Superintendent Jamie Chalker, says "This is an absolute tragedy for this family and we are committed to identifying what may have contributed to the death of this young man."

The family have requested that no direct contact is made by the media to enable them to mourn in private.
