Police are investigating the death of a male at Coburg Peninsula yesterday.

Officers were called at approximately 7:00 am yesterday with a report that a deceased male had been located on a dirt road.

Police from Oenpelli flew to the area and confirmed the report.

Investigators from Major Crash and Forensics arrived at the scene late this morning and are currently carrying out investigations.

A 27-year-old male is currently in police custody and is travelling to Darwin to assist with enquiries.
