Crash - Witnesses sought - Marrara

Police

A 29-year-old male was taken to hospital following a crash that occurred in Marrara early this morning.

It is alleged that the male was travelling in a Holden Vectra along Amy Johnson Avenue towards McMillans Road at around 2:00 am when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Senior Sergeant Greg Pusterla said it appears the vehicle was travelling at speed when it struck a pole and rolled numerous times.

“All three occupants fled the area, however the 29-year-old was located a short time later at a residence in Karama,” said Senior Sergeant Pusterla.

“He was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital to receive treatment for an arm injury and was discharged a short time later.

“It is miraculous that no one was seriously injured in this crash. All three of them can count themselves lucky.

“The two other occupants are described as young Aboriginal males. One was wearing light coloured basketball style clothing and the other was in football shorts. Both were last seen near the Karama Shopping Plaza.

“Please call Police on 131 444 if you witnessed the incident or if you may recognise either of these males.”
