A 22-year-old male is in Police custody following a crash that occurred in Ludmilla early this morning.

The crash was reported at around 12:20 am, stating that a 22-year-old male had crashed a sedan into a light pole outside of McDonalds.

Senior Sergeant Louise Jorgensen said Police, Fire and Rescue and St John Ambulance Officers attended the scene.

“Upon arrival Police established the vehicle had been stolen from Parap on 4 November 2011,” said Senior Sergeant Jorgensen.

“The male received treatment to a cut on his foot before he was taken to the Watch House. He later returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.116%.

The man is likely to be charged later today.

“We have reason to believe that there were several other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash and I urge anyone that may have witnessed the incident to contact Police on 131 444.”
