Crash - Vehicle vs. Tree - Moulden

Police

Four persons have been extracted from the wreckage of their vehicle in a high-speed crash in Palmerston overnight. Palmerston Fire and Rescue officers had to employ hydraulic cutting tools to free all four occupants of the ford falcon after it slammed into a tree on Chung Wah Terrace, Moulden, at approximately 12.30 am. The female driver and her three passengers were all transported to Royal Darwin Hospital where they remain under assessment. High speed and alcohol are being considered as factors in this crash. Watch Commander Craig Ryan stressed the need for drivers to adhere to road safety, claiming the four young adults involved in this crash were lucky they were all pulled out of the wreckage alive. "Coming off a fatality free March, it would have devastated the community if four young lives had been lost this way. "Alcohol and speeding equal disaster and I implore all road users to remain alert and drive sensibly. If you are going to have a few drinks, do not under any circumstances get behind the wheel" he said. Investigations into the crash are continuing. Media Contact Sarah Gotch 0417 770 686
