Crash - Motorcycle vs. Vehicle – McMillans Road, Karama

Police

Members of Darwin's Major Crash Investigation Section are investigating the circumstances surrounding a collision between a motorcycle and a car on McMillans Road last night. At approximately 7.52pm a motorcyclist was riding inbound on McMillans Road when he was struck by a vehicle turning into his path from Moray Street. The force of the crash threw the rider over the vehicle, and he landed on the median strip approximately 10-12 metres away. The rider, a 45-year-old male from Moil, remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition, having suffered serious head injuries and an open fracture to his leg. Duty Superintendent Louise Jorgensen urged drivers to remain vigilant and take care on our roads. "It is everyone's responsibility to drive responsibly. With due care and vigilance, incidents such as these can be avoided" she said. Media Contact Sarah Gotch 0417 770 686
