Police are investigating a motor vehicle incident that occurred in Katherine at 2:20 am yesterday, resulting in a 19-year-old male being hospitalised.

It is believed that the 19-year-old was a passenger in a silver Toyota Hilux dual cab utility travelling along Condon Street in Katherine South when he fell from the motor vehicle. The male suffered serious head Injuries.

Police have spoken to numerous witnesses and at this stage believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the incident. Detectives from the Northern Investigation Section are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact Police on 131 444.
