Comfits issued - Alice Springs

Police

Police have issued Comfits in relation to two incidents of indecent assault in Alice Springs recently.

Constable Rose MacDonald said  the first offence was committed in Laver Court  on  September 14. The 60-year-old female victim told police she was walking back to her car when she was approached by a man who asked her for directions. He then allegedly indecently assaulted her as she was getting into the car.

He is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, approximately 19 years old,  170cm tall, slicked-back dark hair and a slim build. He was wearing black jeans, a dark collared shirt and a black leather-look jacket.

“We have reason to believe this offender may well be linked to another similar incident  which occurred at  an inner-city hotel around 7.30pm on September 17,” Const MacDonald said.

“In this case the 53-year-old female victim told police she was unloading luggage from her vehicle when  she was approached by a man who indecently assaulted her.

“The offender is described as being of Aboriginal appearance,  18 to 20 years old, approximately 175cm tall,  with brown eyes. He was wearing a black baseball cap, a black singlet, black board shorts with a white stripe and black shoes.

“We would like to speak to anyone who may recognise the persons in the Comfits or anyone who witnessed either incident. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
