Call for witnesses following the theft of five vehicles in Katherine

Katherine Police are calling for witnesses following the theft of five vehicles that occurred on Saturday 29 October.

It is alleged that unknown offenders attended H & R Motors on Chardon Street in Katherine on Saturday night and cut a hole through the security fence.

Detective Senior Sergeant Clint Sims of the Northern Investigation Section said that the offenders climbed through the fence and removed five vehicles valued at a total of $46,000.

“All five vehicles have since been located throughout the town,” said Detective Sims.

“Four vehicles received minor damage and the fifth; a white Mitsubishi Pajero valued at around $6,000, received water damage and was located in Katherine Hot Springs.

Police urge anyone that may have witnessed offenders unlawfully entering the car yard, or anyone that witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
