Call for witnesses following a rock throwing incident – Alice Springs

Police are calling for witnesses following a rock throwing incident that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday afternoon.

It was reported to Police that a 20-year-old female was driving her purple Suzuki Swift along Telegraph Terrace at around 1:00 pm yesterday when a rock went through her window.

Senior Sergeant John Nixon said that woman was near the skate park when the rock smashed through her rear driver’s side window.

“The woman observed a young Caucasian male near the skate park. He is described to be around 10 years of age, skinny, with very short dark hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black t-shirt and possibly three quarter length shorts,” said Senior Sergeant Nixon

“This was a very dangerous act and could have ended tragically. I urge all parents to be aware of where their children are at all times. We are urging anyone that may have been in the vicinity at the time, or who may recognise this person, to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
