A report for the Coroner will be compiled by Police following the discovery of human remains near Erldunda this morning.

Detective Acting Superintendent Travis Wurst said that Police received a report at around 9:30 am of human remains being located about 40 kms north of Erldunda Roadhouse.

“Police attended the location just off the Stuart Highway and established a crime scene,” said Detective Acting Superintendent Wurst.

“Forensic scene examiners are currently conducting a thorough scene examination and have recovered the remains of an unidentified adult person.

“An autopsy on the remains will be conducted at a later date.

“This death is not being treated as suspicious at this time, however investigations are continuing.”
