Attempted Sexual Assault Darwin

Northern Territory Police are seeking public assistance in relation to an unlawful entry and attempted sexual assault at a home in Jingili on Monday 31 October 2011.

Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Manley of the Sex Crime Section said that at approximately 1:30 am an address on Jingili Terrace was entered by a male youth who subsequently assaulted a sleeping female occupant. 

“The male attempted to sexually assault the female but was disturbed by the victim screaming out and resisting.

“The male is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, aged between 14 and 17 years, approximately 168 cm in tall with a skinny build. 

“He is described has having a distinctive hair cut which is undercut at the back and sides but longer on top with lighter patches that appear to be dyed. He was wearing three quarter length light coloured cargo pants and had no shirt.

“Investigations to identify and apprehend the offender in this matter are a priority and we are seeking assistance from the public to help identify this man.

“Police are seeking anyone with information or who may have seen the alleged offender in the early hours of Monday morning to contact them on 131 444 or provide their information via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
